"Men of Their Time" by

The
lively interaction of three storytellers who tell the story of
the Cherokee natives, John Sevier, and the pioneers who settled
and battled in Cherokee lands during the American Revolution.
This play presents both sides of the story.
“What Sweet Lips Can Do” by
Jo Carson
“What Sweet Lips Can Do” tells the
story of the Battle of Kings Mountain. In 1780 a ragtag army of
Blue Ridge Mountain volunteers, some barefooted, crossed Orchard
land on the way to confront the strongest army in the world at
Kings Mountain.
Thomas Jefferson would later identify this little
known battle as the turning point in the American Revolution. The
play honors the participants, volunteers all, who came from
hereabouts. It illustrates how a small group of dedicated local
men changed the course of the Revolutionary War and gave us our
freedom.
